Majella Cabernet 2003 - can I drink it now?

Post by Jimmy »

Well I know I can drink it now, but what I really want to know is this - is it possible to drink it now and actually enjoy it, or should I cellar it for some years before opening a bottle?

I have read some good reviews for this wine and was contemplating opening a bottle over the festive season.

Any responses will be well received.

Thanks.

Jimmy

Definitely ... drinking very well now. But with all screwtop's make sure you give it a decent decant prior to consumption.

Hi Jimmy

I enjoyed a bottle a couple of months ago not long after release. It will get better though with time as the baby fruit develops character. Whether it goes into a sleep or not depends on the wine {in my opinion} some do and some dont.

I had the Majella 2002 Cabernet near release and was dissapointed that I bought some on past vintages. I had one a few months ago and wish I had more. Give it a go, only your tastes matter for you.
