Christo,

Not sure if I will be in town that weekend, but will know shortly. Would love to come as I am a Cabernet man. When do you need to know if I am coming or not?

Yes, Andrea will be with me.

Either night is Ok, but prefer Saturday as I think Andrea has a hectic work week and so we can catch up with Ric's friend Marion. ;-)

Need to add Lisa in as partner for me. Saturday or Sunday is fine. Probably prefer Saturday but easy either way.

haven't thought too much about what to bring but I have quite a few 96 707s and although I think it is probably still a monster, it might be worth checking out. Other than that, I have Mount Mary's from '95 to 02 and lots of other stuff lurking in the cellar.
Cheers,
Kris

Hi all,

Mmm, offline in Sydney on Friday 9 or Saturday 10 December. I am interested in coming (2 people). Never been to one before......

Now what to bring.......I guess with these sort of numbers coming, we would prefer 2 of the same wine so we have enough to go around? Even with the numbers coming already, we are looking light on for a decent tasting of each wine, yes?

Christo,

Am happy with either date. As for what to bring i do have a 86 Wolf Blass Grey magnum that i wouldnt mind cracking, also have some 91 Pyrus, St George, Limestone Ridges i could bring, will have to check the cellar to see exactly what i have and get back to you.

Christo,

Just 1 for me, and Sat 10th is my preference. Interesting comment re numbers, 2 bottles of some of these rarer wines may represent a measureable cellar burden. Guess it's not a last-bottle night.

Slainte,

MGB

PS. Brian, you sure i can't tempt you with some old Vat 47?

Okay... well from previous posts most prefer Saturday 10th December at 7pm. I have now booked this date with Atelier, but they only have the courtyard (as aforementioned). So the list for Sat 10th is:

chris
Brian & Andrea
Glen
Ric & Marion (??)
Redvelvet
Kris & Lisa
Griff
Danny (aka BCP) & an ex???
Keiran & Lynn
MGB
Finney +1 (please confirm)
Calvin & Nathan (please confirm)

For convinience sake can everyone please:
1. confirm for this date (including partners)
2. let me know what wines they are taking along (to avoid double ups)

Corkage is $5 per bottle (but thats okay im briniging magnums)

Chris,

Could have probably made the Friday night (but would have been stretching it anyway) but definitely can't make the Saturday as we are out of town that weekend. Have a great time. Will have to work out how I am going to collect my 3 bottles of Black off of Brian. :? At least I can't drink them if he has them. :D But then again he might!
Cheers

Email from Bernadette at Atelier:

Hi Chris,

Confirming the following:
* Saturday 10 December, for 12 people in the courtyard at 7pm. If numbers increase over twelve, there will have to be two seperate tables.
* Degustation menu at $75pp. The menu normally consists of seven courses - five savoury and two sweet. We will replace the sweet courses with cheese.
* You will be e-mailing the list of wines, and any tasting notes if possible, for the Chef to do a matching menu.
* BYO wine at $5 per bottle.

Please let us know of any dietary requirements also.

Regards

Bernadette Templeman

Just confirming, There are two of us (my partner Rebecca as well as myself Carl) and we are able to come on the Saturday.

I can't confirm the vintage exactly but will bring Noon Cabernet (1999 I think but 1998 or 2000 possibly) and Rockford sparkling. I'll bring two bottles of each, unless someone else want to bring some Rockford as well.

Carl, I was going to bring a Rockford Black or a Joseph.

It looks like we are getting towards 20 people and I think it would be good for one person to coordinate and publish a list of wines so that
a) we have enough of each sparkling red for all to try each one without undue burden an people to provide 2 bottles os sp shiraz as well as 2 of the cabs.
b) there isn't any inadvertent doubling up on the cabernets

Since Christo wants to send a list of wines to Atelier to guide their menu I suggest we all send details of our proposed wines to him and he can publish a list here for final negotiation. I've already sent my choices.
Cheers

Hmm 4 bottles of wine each, how drunk are we really trying to get here. Maybe some bring the bubbles and some bring the cab or we try and match 2 wines from different cellars so we only end up with about 2 bottles each. I would always try my best but 4 bottles of red would probably see me a bit to sloshed to appreciate some of the wines   .
