Wine tour from Christchurch

Post by redstuff »

Hi guys,

I'd like some advice on some good wineries around Christchurch. I'm planning an all day wine tour on a Saturday in a few weeks and was wondering what are some of the "better" cellar doors to visit were. Your cumulative advice for the Adelaide Hills was awesome. I'm pretty much a red bigot but have a soft spot for some well balanced chards. Last time we visited Pegasus Bay in 2002 and a few others....

Thanks

you simply HAVE to go to Daniel Schulsters winery. Its a little north of CHch in the Waipara region. Good wine and a great bloke.
Theres many others in the same area but his is the pick of the bunch. (no pun intended)

Agree with a visit to try Dannys wines....also Pegasus Bay, Muddy Waters (bloody hard to find.....tucked away, small driveway, no signage, I'd call beforehand).....some great small wineries like Pyramid Valley and Bell Hill....but a phonecall is essential to get an appointment at both places.....food is good at Peg Bay as well
