Deep red with slight browning on the edges. soft nose of chocolate, vanilla, spice. Similar flavours in the mouth but with dark berrys, softening tannins. Everything is well balanced coats the mouth from front to back, has excellent length. Not a big brash wine but one that is powerful and shows good varietal style and flavour, drinking well now but would last easily another 5- 10 years.
Still remember what this tasted like when it was released and not disappointed with it having paid nz$80 at the time. The year was not great in Barossa but this is a good wine and would easily stand up to a number of premium Shiraz from this vintage and others.
