I am looking at commercial storage, in Sydney, for about 50 cases. Storage cabinets aren't an option since we are moving OS for a few years. So far I have looked at Wine Ark and Cellarit. Does anyone have any comments regarding these companies or any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Craig

A friend had his wine at Wine Ark for a while and had no problems. They also seemed to have a pretty good 'club' type thing with tastings and stuff organised for 'members'
Don't know much about cellarit.
Saw an ad in good living for Kennards in quite a few locations around Sydney. The thing I noted about that was that they had the lockup options where you get your own key. I had my own private bin with Millers and was very happy with that as then the access was easy. I could just take out or put in a bottle or as many cases as I liked whenever they were open and there was no in/out fee. Also, after the kurfuffle with Heritage fine wines, there was a bit of wine missing from the general storage area of Millers that people may not have noticed for many years if it wasn't brought to the surface through the heritage thing and the full stocktake.
More just food for thought if your wine is going into a general storage area. I never liked the idea of that, which was why I went with the private bin in the first place.

Craig,
Having been a member with both companies, I would say that in terms of storage facilities Wine-Ark is superb. I live overseas and had a managed cellar account with Wine-Ark.
I have not visited Cellarit's facility.
If you intend to sell a few bottles and to continue to purchase from overseas, then Cellarit could prove more economical, as they do not charge as highly as Wine-ark for removal of wine for sale, say to Langton's. Also Cellarit charge per bottle rather than by case, so if you make smaller purchases say of three bottles, then again it will cost you less than Wine-Ark.
My bill is much smaller with Cellarit.
Please note that I am referring to a managed cellar account and not a private bin.
Cheers,
Andrew
