Kay's Amery Cabernet Sauvignon 2002

Post by Petros »

I first tried this wine at cellar door about twelve months ago and thought it was the pick of a pretty good bunch. One year on I thought it was time to open another bottle. It starts out with concentrated prune and meaty aromas with a touch of green capsicum. It is dark purple and very viscous, clinging and sliding down th sides of the glass. In the mouth it is rich and smooth ,well rounded with a good balance of dark fruit , chocolate and subtle oak. This is a delicious wine were the flavours hang around well after the bottle is empty. I think this wine will improve even further over the next few years.

Was a real favourite of mine at release and I've really enjoyed a number I've since opened.

Impressive Cabernet, lots going on in the glass and a bargain at $22. Still a pup and IMO it will be long lived.
Cheers - Steve
If you can see through it, it's not worth drinking!
