There's a story about Seppelts with some comments on this wine in Winefront Monthly.

Tried this double blind at an offline (23 feb) with some seriously good palates in attendance. Worth a long hard look. Time will provide the ultimate answer as how good it is. Seems Seppelt have been given some latitude of late to go for the jugular. (e.g Chalambar 2001 amongst many others - is this the trade/pay-off for losing Dorrien and other SA beauties?)

My (not very detailed note) from the night:

2003 Seppelt Moyston Cabernet Merlot - Screwcap - This had me buggered from the word go! Very deep youthful colour. Super-ripe chocolate and cherry (cherry ripe) nose with lashings of top quality spicy, savoury oak. Likewise, big, ripe, lush palate oozing bucketloads of sweet choco-berry fruit almost swallowing up the oak with a whopping big, low acid, high tannin, alcoholic (not hot though) finish. Me went 2002 Barossa Shiraz. Me Richard Cranium. Seppelt are certainly on a hot streak at the moment. Rated Excellent. I said I would buy this if $20 or below. I would drink this over the next 3-5 years.
