I try them at the 20 year mark but a bit behind! Just did horizontals of 2003 and 2001. Very happy with the wines and will keep buying but that logic means I won’t be drinking these til I’m 75.
I’m away o’seas at present and rang Tony on 30 June saying ‘I’ve bought your wine since 1990 vintage but will be away when the mailer comes out, may I order a modest amount - 6 bottles if possible?’. He said if I did that for everyone I’d have no wine to offer others. Hmmm. I wrote him a letter hoping he would fulfill my request, but I’m not sure. I hope he softens.
Imugene, cure for cancer. Brainchip, solution for compute.
Haven’t had my order processed yet which would lend me to thinking it’s been lost in the mail.
It’s the first vintage of I’ve questioned my own morality, as I don’t drink them young. Do I need another 48 bottles or wine I’ll start drinking at 77?
Anyways. I’ve read the first few WF reviews and well done again Wendouree.

No need to question your morality James as I'm sure you're a decent bloke. Your mortality on the other hand...
LOL … fat fingers. post-COVID I’ve used an iPhone for everything internet wise. Has its limitations.
I desperately called Wendouree today from Azerbaijan of all places. No answer. Ah … it’s Saturday!
I called to see if my order “lost” and after some shuffling it was found. Was told it would be processed next week.
30 years and a black signature.
I was hoping to chat with Lita as I’m not sure that’s normal. I prefer to deal with Lita as some of my recent experiences never happened before. Perhaps it’s the new allocation system?
Anyways I’ll probably have to get some from the secondary market so thankfully flippers and hustlers happy to make a tiny amount of money on their allocations.
I never had any issues in years gone by but a number of hiccups recently. 30 years on the list and the black signature.
I’m OK to go to the secondary market to source what I missed out on but I am disappointed in what looks like an organisational error that sees newbies get priority.
If you have been on the list for a long time you also supported Wendouree in some unfashionable vintages that didn’t sell out. Otherwise you lose that famous AP Birks initials!
So you think the 24B that’s sold to Clare restaurants will end up on their wine lists? Or will they be the flipped bottles I pay $250 a bottle for at auction?

Wouldn't have a clue. Not fussed what other people do with their wine.
But for 30 years, the online discussion has been de-mystifying the process. We now have crayons pipping the black signature. Perhaps being a Wendouree grape picker the only ways to assure allocation? Or a holiday house in Clare?
On a side note 24b is about 3 x mailing list price via the secondary and retail market. That factor exceeds Giaconda Chardonnay who look after their long original customers scuttlebutt suggests.
In my experience supporting wineries and wine brokers on wines that go up by this factor and more, an ugly frenzy ensues and loyalty gets swept aside as human persuasion and influence runs its race.
I’ll write a letter and eventually call Lita on this year’s circumstances and incidents previous. I expect a polite indifference as there’s never been a concrete allocation process.

I got mine delivered. No cab sav but some 24b Shiraz which will be interesting to try at some point.
Based on this I'll assume I've missed 24b and Cabernet, shame about the 24b as I've never got it, just happy getting the Cab Malbec and straight Malbec which are my favourites
