G'day
I bought a couple of bottles at the cellar door in 2016, and promptly forgot about them for 10 years, while drinking more of their Uncut Shiraz. So, this is the first time I have looked at this wine since 2016. Decanted 3 hours before service and returned to the cellar.
Light crimson colour with a pale rim. Intense nose, with developed ripe dark plums, lots of dark chocolate and cloves, vanillan oak, blackberry and blueberry. The palate is similarly flavourful and powerful, with more dark fruits and plenty of fruit sweetness. There's a molten chocolate texture, and tannins are providing grip and providing a drying contrast to the sweet fruit. Acid is merely supportive and barely noticeable, and the wine finishes very long and full.
A satisfying wine, and I'm glad I still have the other bottle. This will go another 5 or more years with ease.
Cheers
Allan
