G’day
A couple of weeks in Tasmania late last year sparked my enthusiasm for Tasmanian wines, and Pinot Noir in particular.
This wine is pale ruby in colour, and clear in the glass. The nose has bright red cherries, some vanillan oak, and an interesting overlay of spices, including cloves, cinnamon and five-spice.
The palate is moderately complex, with some stalky characters woven into the fruit. There’s a slightly syrupy texture and the acid is merely supportive rather than being freshening. Tannins are well integrated and barely noticeable.
Overall, the wine seems to combine overt fruit with spice and savoury characters, and the combination is all in balance and very satisfying.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
