Barolo - buying in Australia

Post by SVG »

Hello, I'm looking to buy a very nice bottle of Barolo to drink now. Perhaps a 2001/2004/2016.
Where would you recommend buying Barolo in Aus?

What are your favourite/ best bottles of Barolo to drink now ?

Thanks !

Hi All
I suggested this site to SVG as a good place to tap into local knowledge of Aussie wine shops with strong Italian selections including back vintages. I figured if anyone would know, you would.

From the discussion on the other site, think of a wine that would appeal to someone who already knows and loves Barolo, and that would be approachable even if not at notional 'peak'.

Thanks
Ian

Thanks for the clarification, Ian.

SVG, where are you located and are you looking to aource locally to you?
Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Hi SVG,

I recommend checking out Wind Decoded and Ethereal Wines. These e-retailers have been mentioned in another thread and I can vouch for them as I have been buying from them for many years. Give them a call and I am sure they will help with any questions. Looking at their websites, they have Barolo and Barbaresco from the vintages you are looking for.

Ethereal Wines a good idea, great folks, and they also direct import some great Barolo and Barbaresco brands.
