Wendouree Tasting - Melbourne..

Post by Con J »

Hi All.

I propose a Wendouree Tasting mid to late September, any preferred dates?

Venue TBA, cost around $120. We’ll probably need at least 8 of us to allow us to open this many bottles.

I will put on all the following wines in serving brackets. I’ve always gone oldest to youngest but we’ll try the other way.

Start - 1979 Pewsey Vale Riesling.

1st - 2002 - 2004 Shiraz.

2nd - 1999 - 2003 Shiraz.

3rd - 1996 Shiraz - 1997 Pressings.

4th - 1985 Pressings - 1991 Shiraz.

Finish - 1975 - 1986 Vintage Port.

Cheers Con.

Happy to join in Con. Are you after other bottles ?

I think you might need some backups - from reading other threads, there seems to have been a high rate of cork taint, which forced them to move to screw cap - maybe Jamie or someone would could give an opinion. 21/09 is the first date I can probably make.

Cameron.

No bottles required but if anyone wants to bring a back up just in case. I don’t want to deal with swapping or selling, just have a good time. Also I’d like to prepare and double decant all the wine.

Cheers Con.

Hi Con
Would love to be involved, and could help with back ups or gap filling, but just can’t do September or October. Any chance of a November date?

Would love to be involved Con, looks an incredible
Line up. I’m a better chance the first half of September I expect (travelling the second half). Albeit will come down to young family commitments.

Cheers Ed

Depending on dates (and if I'm in the state) this sounds wonderful Con. Been ages since we have shared a bottle (or seven). Let me know

*update* Im out for most of September
I have Thursday 12th Sept and thats about it as im away most of September

Friday 4th of October is good for me - but i know it doesnt suit the timeline you wanted.

Sorry Con
