I have a bottle of 1974 McLaren Grove SA Shiraz Cabernet here for valuation. I am new to this forum, hope it is the right section. Any idea how much it is worth, if anything? Thank you.]

Oh dear. Very low level in the bottle = leaky cork = likely to be oxidised and undrinkable.
Couple that with no name or pedigree (ie. it's not Grange!) and a very average vintage in 1974 and you've got nothing of value.

Agreed, its not so much the year or the region, but the condition, very low shoulder equals vinegar. Might make a dollar on a good day.

Have to agree, though as a minor bonus, the label is in decent nick, so if you like to collect empty bottles, it's a decent little curio to add to that.

Indeed I'd say there's no point waiting to open it, and at worst, it's a useful reference point for recognising how oxidised wines smell. At best, miracles can occur, and even if only fleetingly alive and drinkable, that's likely to be an interesting experience.
