A few modest wines to top up a cellar that has been decreasing in size in the last 3-4 years. All 1s, 2s or 3s from a competent supermarket chain, that used to be a bit better than that. 25% off, but you've always got to watch the honesty of the claimed original price.

Also 6 of both the 2019 and 2020 Gladstones from CellarOne. Can't go wrong.

Yes, I respect the label - have some older vintages. Was alerted to it on Hooke's Friday review and piqued by the high score.
Have too much shiraz in my cellar and vowed to drink through a bit before buying more.

What sort of Grenache are these? Could look them up I know, but if you have tried them would appreciate your view. Always looking for new Grenache producers (Spinifex not new of course, but don't know that one).

The Spinifex is a cracker, tried it at the Artisans last month. Great fruit, lovely tannins and medium bodied.
The Sucette I bought on a whim at the right price, but 100 year old vines from Vine Vale (sandier soils than most of the Valley floor) so fingers crossed as I haven't got around to trying yet.
The PAR is a lighter style of Grenache. Dare I say, a bit of Pinosity I mainly purchased to further my Grenache journey as I've never had any Grenache from the Hilltops and reviews were promising. Really nice but needed a touch of air. Only light bodied but has a line of purity that astounded me. Well worth grabbing a bottle and trying. Really surprised me.

I have worked out over the last few years that my favourite and preferred Grenache's all seem to come from Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale, so I'm going to spend more of my wedge there in future, along with trying other regions. I'm no vigneron but I'm suspecting that my tastes prefer the sandy soils. I much prefer the Blewitt Springs Grenache's over Clarendon for example and have really enjoyed a few from Vine Vale over time. My palate isn't good enough to know why, but it's a definite theme to my preferences. Took me a while to work out too. I have purchased a few Victorian (mainly Heathcote) as well the last year or so.

The Hoddles Creek Chardonnays are special and a must buy for me now. The Single Vineyards deserve a lot more recognition for the great wines that they are.

Tonight a mixed bunch of Richmond Grove (96, 97, 08, 12 and 13) Watervale Riesling plus a 97 Cab from the same house. A few others as well, including a 92 Brown Brothers Noble Riesling and an 06 Orlando Riesling - I think Jamie bought some as well. Bring on the summer.

Interesting how the '89 JWT will show after all these years. At the time absolutely panned by the critics as a technically made to style blend. I purchased a couple of cases from the old Baily and Baily St George's store, $60 a dozen. Reckon the first dozen were drunk before Christmas that year.

Always in the market for Riesling. Mainly due the incredible and probably timeless performances of early century screw-capped rieslings from my climate controlled cellar. I cracked 3 out of 6 2005 Grosset Polish Hills last week at a dinner party. Great wine and they do age it seems. I don’t want to waste some of these wines so happy to go long on the secondary market for near term drinking.

Picked up some foreign gear too. Sound pricing. Left the Barolo alone as I’m travelling the world in cargo jets with unlimited luggage. So hunting good pricing in my downtime ( in Israel & Poland )

I shudder at the amount of 02 Riesling that is in the cellar, not all of it at the level of Grosset mind you, but there were a squillion CV/EV wines that were sub $25 a bottle, with dozens sub $15! Better get cracking.
