Regular forumites may know that I am a long term fan of Ashbrook. This is their latest release Chardonnay,
Pale yellow in the glass. Ripe yellow peach and nectarine are prominent on the nose, with some tropical fruits (pineapple, banana) as well. There's also a savoury undercurrent of cedary oak and a hint of vanilla.
The palate has a satisfying blend of fruit sweetness and savouriness, with the fruit winning at this early stage. Mouthwatering acid works very well over a slight grip to the mouthfeel. Medium weught and medium to long finish.
Well balanced, and bodes well for the future (which history tells me will be 5+ years).
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Time to have another look at this wine, 18 months since the last note.
Yellow in colour. White and yellow peach and nectarine dominate the nose, and the tropical fruits mentioned last time have largely disappeared. Nutty oak remains in support.
The palate is all about the fruit at this stage, and the wine remains juicy and refreshing. This is in a good place now, and if anything, better than the first bottle.
Cheers
