From a stellar vintage in Margaret River, this doesn't disappoint.
Still deep colour, and not quite opaque. Lots of cedar, graphite and a touch of cigar box alongside mulberry, blackcurrant and cassis on the nose. The palate is still showing primary fruit plus some tart raspberry, alongside secondary development. Acid is supportive and tannins have pretty well integrated so as to not be noticeable. Medium to full bodied, and very long finish, without being heavy or thick.
Not perfectly balanced, but not far off. Good wine, and no rush to drink any remaining bottles you might have.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

Thanks for the note Allan.
Have a few 2011 MR Cabernets cellared away. Sounds like the time is right to try one.
I wonder how it will compared against 2018 in time.
Cheers Ed

AN interesting question, Ed. Probably the two best vintages in the last 15 or more.

My final bottle of this vintage. Deep purple black in colour.
There's still some primary fruit on the nose, with blackcurrant, mulberry and juicy blackberries, alongside some raspberry, chocolate and a little eucalypt. There are savoury notes as well, with cedary oak and graphite.
The palate is heading more into slightly tangy red fruit territory, with signs of development (not surprising for a 13 year old wine) - acid appears softer and the fine tannins are mostly integrated (although there's still signs of grip). Quite balanced overall, with a good mix of fruits, timber and acid, and a long finish.
Cheers
