After noticing/reading about the wines on here for the first time recently, and reading some other positive reviews, Callum shipped me some of the 2021 Agricola Vintners releases is light speed time. Great service!

3 * Domaine Des Vignes du Maynes Cuvée Léandre L’Homme De Lion 2017
2 * 2008 Riesling, Granite Hills
2 * 2004 Watervale Riesling, Grosset

Bought the Lion after a great review by Mike Bennie. 48 months on lees and no sulphur. Muscadet is cheaper, but this sounds interesting.

Wasn't even meant to be there, but happened to be in the Barossa, so popped into Rockford.
A mixed case of 2019 Moppa and Rod and Spur. Remaining 2019s to be released Oct 1.

If you had to choose between drinking great wine or winning Lotto, which would you choose - Red or White?

When I was there recently they were still on the ‘17, did they skip the 2018 Dry Country Grenache?

Apologies, podgy fingers. ‘17 is still at cellar door. Coincidentally, I was told that the ‘18 will be in short supply as they didn’t make much.

Cheers

I’m there again in about a fortnight for a stonewall lunch (2nd this year :D ) and hope to try the next vintage instead of buying on spec(?) as I often do living in Tassie

Decided not to buy any more wine this year, but just picked up some old junk at Wickmans. So much for my willpower. They had some old screw cap Rieslings and I bought a few to test if these wines really age forever. Given the age, I presume these wines were not great even while young (otherwise they would have had a cork), but it will make for a fun tasting

1 * 1982 HUNGERFORD HILL Traminer-Riesling
2 * 1982 DORADO WINE CO. St Julien Riesling
1 * 1982 MANNING PARK Rhine Riesling
1 * 2004 MCWILLIAM'S WINES Regional Collection Riesling
1 * 2012 PATRICK Aged Riesling
1 * 1984 HARDY'S St. Thomas Burgundy Shiraz (Cork)
1 * 1984 HUNTER'S Breidecker, Marlborough (Cork)

Yes indeed! Plan is to sell half of 2018,'19 and '20 Lalande I've stocked up on, together with some '21, at about 10 years of age, to finance purchases of aged, good vintages of same, with 20 years on them. Currently enjoying 2003 - at $275, good value, but more importantly, I love the style.

I bought a case of 2005 for investment but will drink them instead. When younger had to justify the outlay I guess. At the time I was reading an article in the Financial Times about 2005 for investment so bought all their BDX recommendations. It was less dreary than investing in superannuation or stocks. Not sure if they were good investments- I guess not if I drink them!

A New Zealand aquaintance of mine from many years ago told me his strategy was to buy two cases of each Bordeaux chateau, then, ten or more years later, sell one case and drink the other for free.
