Talking with the winemaker on the weekend, they are very happy with the 2021s, spoke about the 'excellent' natural acidity. Another very good year.
Look forward to trying them once the CD opens in a few weeks.

Oh dear more Riesling to consider.
Think I will chase Florita, KT, Merle, Clos Clare and Adelina...certainly don't need anymore.

A dozen each of the final ever Marius releases...thanks Roger, damn special wines and very glad Gavin to have got on the Marius train 7 years ago and to spend the last 5 with Mr Pike.
Cheers Craig

Also a dozen each of the final Marius vintage - sad, but great to have been able to have access to these incredible wines at a price I could afford. The prices have barely budged in the 15 years I have been buying (Simpatico up frpm $25 for the 2004 to $33 for the 2019; Symphony from $35 to $44 over the same period and vintages). I have never sold a bottle, and have given precious few to special friends and taken to special dinners and offlines to share the love.

I am hoping the 180 bottles in my cellar will last me at least the next 25 years..... :D

Cheers

Beautiful drinking Malcolm, had half a bottle last October. I am thinking about a Caley purchase, have tasted all five releases, cracking wines.
A certain chain is flogging them for $299, a little worried as they are sitting under lights in display cabinets

Interesting - did you go for any of the Shiraz as well? Thinking about dipping in for a few of several of the wines in their range...

Cabernet was always such a great and cellarable wine. I’ve probably still got some really old ones at the bottom of my cellar. Should be lovely

Haven't gone the Shiraz this year but probably should as I've enjoyed it in the past. Cabernet is terrific.

Hi Malcolm.

No fortified for a while, there’s been very little and nothing interesting available.

The last few months I’ve been back filling some old Aussie classics.

Cheers Con.

Ditto above. The 19 was good too. Still have a bottle or 3 but will go soon. Soooo gluggable.

I’m in lockdown 12km from my cellar :( Luckily a few bottles in the small vintec at home, but otherwise buying for immediate drinking at the moment! My missus is off the red, so enjoying half bottles for flexible mid-week drinking…

36 x Faith Shiraz half bottles
24 x Blackwell Shiraz half bottles
4 x Campo Viejo Grand Reserva (haven’t tried it but will give it a go for $25!)

Plus some spirits & made up a 1.5L batch of negroni’s.

Also, homeschool :|
I'll drink to that :)

A few picked up today from a local shop, mostly ones I've had before and have returned for more. Nothing fancy / expensive.

2x NV Bulles de Miniere (sparkling cab franc from the Loire)
2x 2012 Pinot Vouvray Brut (sparkling Chenin blanc, also from the Loire)
2x halves of 2016 Ch Lamartine Cahors and another half from the same vintage of their Cuvee Particuliere Cahors
1 x Belisario Verdicchio di Matelica (a reasonably big producer, who I have a fancier bottling of, so nice to put the standard bottling against it)
1 x Kaiken Torrontes from Argentina. Inexpensive, just fancied trying a bottle.

Just over £100, but with the top 3 rows known favourites.

Hi Michael, Have I somehow missed the Marius allocation email from Roger this year, or are you a close contact and received yours earlier than everyone else? I had it in my mind that September 1st might be the special day (Today). Thanks for your help!

I always wanted to buy the Quintet, but never managed to do it. It will have pride of place in my collection.
