Brisbane Offline 30th April
Brisbane Offline 30th April
Hi Everyone,
Our first Brisbane Offline has been organized since the start of all this Covid madness on Friday 30th April at the Vine Restaurant Bar 5/158 Moray St, New Farm for 7:30 pm. Fingers crossed we will not get caught out with any further lock downs. So far we have
Ian + 1
Rens + 1
Michael + 1
Nick + 1
Gerry + 1
There is a couple more spots left as we probably need to keep the number at 12. Don't be shy and come along and join us. Plan is to have the 5 course degustation menu.
cheers Gerry

If you had to choose between drinking great wine or winning Lotto, which would you choose - Red or White?
Re: Brisbane Offline 30th April
I don’t think we settled on a theme, but I have promised the 2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape) and the 1954 Hardy’s Show Reserve Port Bin No.M177.ticklenow1 wrote:Do we have a theme yet?

Re: Brisbane Offline 30th April
Hi all, while I’d love to come along, we’re planning on camping this weekend. If the weather turns tooo bad that we cancel, and there’s still a spot left I’ll call out. Sure it will be a great night.

Sorry everyone, have been a bit slack on the communication with this one. How about we don't have a specific theme and and bring something special to celebrate us finally catching up again Post Lockdowns. Hopefully I don't jinx things writing this!!
Menu for the night is
Calamari, Potato Soft Pure, Wasabi and Watercress
Pan Fried Canadian Scallop, Creamed Tuscany Kale, Habanero Salame, Porcini
Ravioli with Braised Beef Cheeks, Fermented Red Cabbage, jus with Tasmanian Rasin
Slow Cooked Lamb Sholder, Goat Cheese, Pak Choi and Pomme Croquettes
Raspberry Sorbet, Rhubarb, Hibiscus tea and Lychee
I think we should also throw in the cheese selection since its been so long between offlines
wines so far.
Rens: 2005 Clos des Papes Chateauneuf-du-Pape, 1954 Hardys show Reserve Port Bin M177
Nick: 05 Vieux Telegraphe & a White Burg or Champagne
Michael: 2010 St Henri and or 2007 Seppelt Original Sparkling Shiraz
Gerry: 2012 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling, 2002 Domaine de Chevalier Grand Cru Classe de Graves, 2010 Chateau Filhot Sauterne
So far we have 10 coming. Have a table booked for 12 so please shout out if you would like to join us.
Hi Willard - hope the weather is not too kind and you can join us. I'll pm you my mobile so we can stay in touch if you can make it.
cheers Gerry

Starting to look like a European theme emerging, but as Gerry said, more about celebrating getting together again.ticklenow1 wrote:Do we have a theme yet?

Re: Brisbane Offline 30th April
Given the more 'European' ternd in the wines, I have opened and double decanted a 2017 Cellers Scala Dei Heretege (Heretic) from Priorat.
Also bringing a NV Louis Roederer to start us off - realised there is a big gap in my cellar - quality bubbles with some age on them.
Very excited!
Cheers
