Grim times Felix

You OK or have you fled?

As yet there are no wine sales indicating the near collapse of retail in HKG. Next month If no green shoots I’m expecting pandemonium.

Corkage is being waived at most restaurants .

..... safely (for now) tucked away in Melbourne, and managed to extricate wife and child before it hit the fan. Not sure when we will go back, but the signs are good today, if you believe them. China claims only five new cases outside Hubei in all of China!!! If that is true, I think things we start to normalise within a month.

Great pickup Oz!

I grabbed 2 x 2010 Rocche dei Manzoni Barolo Vigna Cappella Di S. Stefano Perno
Same situation, I was the only bidder. I know leans towards more modernist, but from the reading I can find this vintage/vineyard
appears more fruit driven style.

Sadly more reported in last 24 hrs! Although Rest of World now ahead of China on daily cases! China is probably reasonably under control, what is concerning is the laissez-faire attitude in Italy and the inability/misinformation from Iran. I was in Thailand (coincidentally) for Chinese New Year, just before the proverbial hit the fan, lots of fear and masks, useful or otherwise. We are lucky in Australia, virtually no masks in Melbourne, it will come no doubt though. No option but to drink up!

This must be 1 of my rarest wines. Think I own 2.5% of the world production

6 * ‘15 Ullaged Chardonnay, Dappled

4 years in the barrel, no topping up. Sounds Jura like. No Flor though. Only 1 Barrel made. A 2nd barrel is maturing further...
This is my church, this is where I heal my hurts.

No big sales. Usual offers.

I think people are drinking a bit more. Not sure if this a great thing for the immunity system. But then again, a little cheer in grim times, may have considerable positives.
