Shrunken cork? Grange bottle.

Post by Nick Wine Guy »

Just got an 09 Grange delivered from Dan Murphys on special and immediately noticed the cork seemed quite shrunken, pics below.

Is this a concern?

Thank you.

No issue. It just means the cork has been inserted slightly below the level of the rim.
I suppose it could have been pushed in, to a degree, but if the (wine) level in the bottle is normal then it's no problem.

Thanks, mate. Yes, the level of wine looks where it should be for a 10 year old bottle, just below the wrapper.
