Limestone Coast trip

Hi everyone,

I feel somewhat guilty for only raising my head these days to ask for advice on trips, but I'm down in Cape Jaffa for the next few days, and am keen for suggestions on where to check out in the area.

I've found the excellent list of Coonawarra wineries not to miss in an earlier thread, but wondered if there was anywhere else in the Limestone Coast region worth seeing? Are there any great wineries in Cape Jaffa, Kingston, Beachport, Robe or Mount Benson areas we shouldn't miss?

Yes I ate one by candlelight tonight as the power out .

Modest lobster from my recollections of living in SA years ago but gee it was nice with a 2005 Tarrawarra Reserve Chardonnay .

Cellar dweller month . Extraordinary- I couldn’t leave Balnaves with The Talley at $10 a glass for 2009 and 2013.

I may visit Cape Jaffa. I bought a six pack of mature Coonawarra Cabernet with me so I’m hoping to avoid buying any wine .

Yes and just goes to show what a region 400 km from nowhere will do in terms of providing great value, and not see every opportunity to gouge customers/visitors. One of the best areas in Australia from peace and quiet, to really get away and simply enjoy all there is to offer.
I've got four days planned for October Celebrations, its Cellar dwellers on steroids.

Go to Fodder, Pipers, Royal Oak for food, there are 8-10 wineries that I would recommend, the drive to Mount Gambier is good. Newer wineries like Bellweather and some by appointment in Wrattonbully are worth a shot.

Just left big lobster for Cape Jaffa where a big glass of their 2016 La Lune Shiraz is $15 . Not a taster nor cellar door buyer so happy to buy a glass. Nice to have a heavily peppered SA Shiraz from their Siberian block of Shiraz .
