Avignonesi is a family name that pops up a lot in Montepulciano. This wine is from a good vintage in the area.
Initially closed, it opened up to dark plums, leather, and cocoa powder. There's a touch of coffee as well. The palate is quite full, with dark chocolate and coffee grounds along with considerable tannins, dark cherries and refreshing acidity. Long finish.
One of the better 2015s I've tried.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
