I really need to start using my new glasses, I skimmed through the OP twice and completely missed it!Hacker wrote:Yes Thursday 6th Sept. I mentioned it in the first post. Btw if there are no objections I will order the main set order menu, that has worked well on the previous offlines.
Can other attendees nominate which wine they are planning to bring?
Set menu is fine with me, they have done that very well every other time we’ve been.

I'll go through the cellar over the weekend but from memory I'll bring something from the list below. Let me know if anyone wants anything specific.
2000 Lindemans St George
2004 Majella
1998 Zema Family Selection
199x JR's. Can't remember what years I have as my CT looks wrong from memory.
2008 Devils Lair
1998 Moss Wood (need to confirm year)
2004 Leeuwin Estate Cab
2000 Lindemans St George
2004 Majella
1998 Zema Family Selection
199x JR's. Can't remember what years I have as my CT looks wrong from memory.
2008 Devils Lair
1998 Moss Wood (need to confirm year)
2004 Leeuwin Estate Cab
I appreciate all forms of alcohol, as long as its wine.

I've got a few options to fit the theme but all are pure vinfanticide to open (e.g Riddoch 04 - still crazy young), so I've arranged to buy a couple of Dave's wines from the list in his previous post. So put me down for the Howard Park Cab Merlot 96 and one of those Coonawarras. (Pyrus 88 would be my first pick, reckon it could show well).

Hi Team,
I'm out! I've been sent to Melbourne on that date. My apologies I'm sure you were all looking forward to that 1998 Jamieson Run (cleanskin). Thankfully that reserve list is in play!

Thanks for the heads up! Do we need more Margaret River Cabs or Coonawarra Cabs at this stage?

Is Hacker on the Selosse already? People have nominated about 6-7 wines in the thread they are bringing.

Re: Sept Sydney Offline: Margaret River vs. Coonawarra
Apologies, I am going to need to step out of this one. I've recently moved house and the cellar is offsite a fair way further than it used to be and Im not going to get there this weekend. Also work very busy so its probably better I miss it. Hope there is another taker....see you at the next.
Re: Sept Sydney Offline: Margaret River vs. Coonawarra
All fine Andrew.
In regards wines, everyone bring what they would like to share and we will put matches together on the night. Too complicated otherwise getting balances right now.
There is still room for someone else to join us.

I’ve gone with the 04 Tally. I had one of the Voyager 03 on Thursday at Brown Sugar and with a five hour decant it was excellent. Close my eyes and I could have been drinking far more expensive Bordeaux. Medium weight, not dissimilar to a Pauillac. Approachable, morish, lovely long finish. Forestal, cassis fruit. I will be interested to see how the Tally stacks up against it.rooman wrote:I’ve got some 03 or 04 Voyager or 04 or 05 Tally. Let me know your preference.

Sorry guys but I won't be able to make it down. Tried to move some stuff around but too many things due too close to the date.
Re: Sept Sydney Offline: Margaret River vs. Coonawarra
Sorry to hear Alex, but plenty of oflines in the future to attend.
I notice there is a bit of negativity about Cullen DM. I hav a few of the 2001 so might bring that instead of the original Moss Wood. Plus a blind surprise.

I have a couple of colleagues out from Europe next week if you need numbers. I can bring more wines as their contributions.
They arrive next Wednesday, so no idea if that is something they'd be keen on so soon after landing, one did show me his new bar which had wooden wine box sides as part of it so they are interested in wine.

Hi Dave, always happy to accommodate extras. Just let me know when you can about their attendance and I will fix numbers with La Mint.

Put me down for a Tally 04.
Re: Sept Sydney Offline: Margaret River vs. Coonawarra
Just spoke to them and they are both keen.

Re: Sept Sydney Offline: Margaret River vs. Coonawarra
Well it’s neither MR or Coonawarra but I also have an interesting dessert wine to finish off the evening.
Re: Sept Sydney Offline: Margaret River vs. Coonawarra
Booked for 6.30pm tomorrow night. La Mint, 62 Riley St Darlo. The stemware is ok from memory and I have asked for 2 wine glasses per person.
I have arranged for the set menu, 'the feast'. You can see it here: https://www.lamint.com.au/the-feast
Looking forward to it!

Guys I'm really sorry but I'm out.
We have a big change going in at work and I need to be on conference calls for a fair chunk of the night.
Plus I'm not allowed to have anything to drink while working (obviously not my decision)

I will bring Katnook Odyssey 98’. Hope that would make the WA and SA lineup more balanced.
