Not sure which thread is for Wendouree, but after splurging out on 2016 Burgundy I had to make do with just a mixed case. Red crayon and I have told them to make substitutions if something is sold out

Drank very good 15 & 16 Flametree RSJ Chardonnay last week and 3 bottles of the 15 should be appearing soon - less refined, but takes me back to the early 90’s style of wine.

Just back from a short break in France, and I really ought to log the purchases into CT / cellar tonight, so maybe a post later.

Not wine, but I got some liver pate from the market in St Omer (pate de Foie, not Foie Gras), and took it into work along with a seeded baguette (Alain Clement - a very fine/popular boulangerie nearby). Wow! I enjoy pate (though terrine even more), but this was off the scale, and it seemed to have an addictive quality considering how people couldn't stop going back for more.

Definitely some merit on 'following the crowds' at French markets if this is typical.

Although I doubt they'll be cheap, by the time they make it to Aussie (and suffer the Wine Extortion Tax), comparatively they should be very decent value. Really fine value at cellar door if you ever find yourself in the Barbaresco village.

So this is a strange one. I got home last night to find 18 bottles of wine sitting waiting for me. It appears that my wife has signed me up for a mail order wine service - won’t name them as it’s Gavins site. A 2008 Tempus 2 semillonwas part of the mix, but generally it seems to be a selection of simpel quaffers. I suppose, after a number of years suffering my facination for white Bdx, oxidised whites, lean reds and natural wines, she has had enough.

Not exactly "July 2018 purchases" as they won't be delivered until next Fall. So they should be "July 2018 orders" instead,

3x Leoville Barton 2016
3x Calon Segur 2016
3x Pavie Macquin 2016

Reminded me a lot of the 17 florita. Needs a sleep in the cellar. In the meantime drink (or buy) all the 17 petaluma Hanlin hill, 17 Vickery Eden valley and 17 Chaffey Bros you can, while the RF#2 and Florita fills out a bit.

2016 seems like a no brainer for quality. Got a case of Sons of Eden Remus and a case of Duval Entity. Waiting on Wendouree confo but I believe I am safe as I have been ordering from the 1990 vintage.

Finally out of the box this month.

12 x Driftwood 2015 Artifacts Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon. Continuing my love affair with this district and medium bodied reds. Includes tiny quantities of petit verdot, merlot, shiraz and cab franc. 12% in total.

Barossa Run.
Took Hunters advice and did a sit down with John Hughes at riesling freak.
Great experience. Recommend it. Super bloke.
If Tscharke isn't the greatest wine value getting around I'll go heave.
Really impressed with Izway and spinifex (bete noir shiraz crikey this is good gear). My first experience with these wines.
Did tastings at Turkey flat and Kalleske with plans to go back but simply ran out of time.
Had planned to go back to Izway to get some more Bruce but again time got away.
Artisans of Barossa worth the visit. great service and really good spread of wines.
