Moss Wood Cab Sav 1996, 1997, 1998

Post by Croquet King »

A friend of mine purchased a well cellared collection of Moss Wood from 1996, 1997 and 1998.

Has anyone on the forum had these wines?
I got a mixed dozen myself last night.
I appreciate all forms of alcohol, as long as its wine.

I tried the 1996 & 1998 six years ago: the 1998 was very good and I felt the 1996 possibly needed more time:

I had the '96 last November. It was a joy to drink. You're in for a treat!

Seems the 1996 is popular, this is also the only one I've tried, a couple of years back now. Excellent wine. Enjoy

I tasted the '97 many years ago, it was young, but lovely, with very much a Bordeaux nose.

At the time I preferred it to the '95 Grange but we are talking different wines, different vintages, and different stages in their own evolutionary path.

Judging by the posts here it seems to me the likely order of consuption ought to be '97, '98, then '96.
