Unfortunately it would seem that we don't have enough interest for an offline at the moment.

I'm interested although can only do any date after 29 April. Theme of 8 and Langtons suits although I'm easy on any theme except Barolo (zero in cellar). There is a 98 JR that fits the bill. Any food suits except Asian as I feel reds don't suit this style of food. I am wondering if Chianti Classico on Hutt St may have the private dining room available. They have a good BYO rule - $20 each I think and fantastic stemware. Great Italian food. Pasta to die for. Maybe a deal could be struck for a meal and wine package. Happy to discuss with them if we get the numbers.

That game is May 18th, so May 11th probably won't suit Jamie.

BTW Jamie, I'll be at Adelaide Oval that day/game as well, barracking for the good guys tho"!!!

Travelling from 14th - 23rd May, so couldn't do 18th (but happy to sit this one out if mid May works better for the majority of people). Cheers, Adele

Most dates in May will probably work for be, best in between the first and last week (which would suit the dates already mentioned).

that's a bummer Craig. Your banter and note taking will be missed! Maybe we'll try for another offline later in the year.
It's my time to step up. It's been a busy few months with 2 young'uns under 5. Never a dull moment.
Once things settle I'll get the wheels in motion. One offline at a time.

Are we sticking to the Langtons Classified '8' theme?
If so I can suggest an 08 Noon eclipse or 08 Elderton Command shiraz. 08 BL? seems a bit meh....
I will scan the usual auction houses to see what's around as I think a bit more age is required.
I don't have any 98/88 wines that fit the bill.

I do have 1978 hugel and fils pinot noir which I may bring just for some fun.
Not sure if I should hold out any hope for this but it was a prize in a blind tasting about a year ago.

Thanks Mario for confirming.

Scotty, yes Langtons Classified 08 theme. The 08 Command would be great.

This has the making of being a cracker night. The only criteria so we do keep with the theme of 8 vintage year and the wine is listed on the Langtons Classification.

I have also just made a tentative reservation at Cliche in North Adelaide based on the positive feedback from everyone that attended the Wendouree offline last year. Great food, very reasonably priced (including the corkage) and good glassware.

You know, sitting under the scoreboard drinking bad SA beer and getting rained, reminds me of the Western Oval twenty + years ago. :D

Especially if badly beaten !

We should do a a small offline anyways.

Fantastic I will add you to the list.

Updated list below:

Hunter
Mario
Scotty Vino
Tony
George Krashos
Carl
n4sir
Trufflequeen
David x 2

Seating will be limited to 12 max so 2 spots left if anyone is still interested in attending please let me know.

Now the fun part what is everyone planning on bringing so we can start compiling the list?

I am thinking 1998 St Hallett Old Block or 1998 Rockford Basket Press.

Thanks for your hospitality but I'll decline.

Not sure about the choices comment in the context of an international visitor. So how about I'll reserve a comfortable chair for you at my local offlines here in HKG? The next three are Cappellano Barolo 1950's onwards 2nd of Mar, 1990 Bordeaux horizontal 9 Mar and my comparably modest PdB 2008 Barbaresco horizontal 22 MAr.

Anyone have 98 winemaker's reserve? I've put mine up against regular 98 BP on a number of occasions.

had it many times long ago, as I recall, there was virtually no difference that we could detect. I remember someone once saying that the WR was simply a later release, although I couldn't say if that was correct or not.
