Hunter Valley Fires

Post by Redwine&Rum »

Hi guys

Heard on the radio that there are some pretty big fires in the Hunter Valley region.
Any word on if this has affected any wine producers in the region? Or there has been vine loss due to the fires?

Cheers

Google brings up the RFS page showing the fires mainly out in farmland near Kurri Kurri (a long way east of the wine regions, which are a relatively small part of the huge Hunter region) and one on Old Maitland road in the bush just east of Cessnock, which is not close to the wineries but nevertheless all pose some potential risk for residents if not well controlled, so fingers crossed for them!

Fortunately there's no fruit to be tainted at this time of the year :)
