Have you had any of the Louis Pato Reds?
Had a 10 year old Baga a couple of months ago and it was wonderful drinking.
A 1999 last year, but the cellar has a 1990, 2x 2004, 2010 and now 2012 Vinhas Velhas reds - something of a stealth vertical (I hadn't appreciated I had so many). I'm told the 1990 is proper old vines and the following years somewhat younger.
Last night a 2000 Sidonio de Sousa reserva reminded me how I enjoy this particularly odd grape.

2012 as a vintage is one which is quite approachable now. Barbaresco in particular tends to have very pretty floral elements, med body and moderate tannin (for Nebbiolo).
Produttori del Barbaresco is a traditionalist producer and I would suggest the bottle you have is a great place to start.
Generally speaking if drinking young Barolo / Barbaresco, I think pop and pour is the best approach, since after around 3-4 hours of breathing, often the wines can become an impenetrable wall of tannin. This is less likely to occur with a 2012, so you can probably give it 30min to open up, then enjoy over several hours (or days).

PdB - plenty of praise out there for them, generally regarded as a best co-op winery in the world. For me prices are creeping up, such that they are now good rather than great value.
Renato Ratti - The wines I tasted at the winery didn't light my fire, but on a single tasting I'm loathe to write them off. Based in La Morra, on the hill down towards annunziata, in a very modern winery that they made great efforts to integrate with the landscape. Well worth trying, as if you like them, their wines and those of Produttori are likely to be available year on year.
