Dangerous theme & I love it!

Can I assume its a set dinner menu like usual?
If so, do you guys have a list of the courses we are having (I know its French). More so I can
whittle down my decision making and try to match my wine to a course.

Last time we did a la carte. Everyone ordered steak... Frites or other combo.

Bergerac is a different arrangement to Scopri. Menu is here: http://www.bergeracrestaurant.com.au/dinner.html
Everyone just orders an entree and a main and we usually share some sides of fries and vegetables. As the wines will undoubtedly be primarily red, suitable pairing options are a bit limited. The steak at Bergerac is good, so that always seems to the most popular main. However, if Cassoulet is on the daily specials, that's also popular.

No problems guys, thanks for the heads up.

I'll be bringing something red... not sure what yet. I'll also bring an extra sparkling (white) to get us started.

I’ll bring a red and the customary fortified to finish.

Cheers Con.

Rory - you're in.
Alex - you're first reserve.

Not even close!

I have too much to choose from.

After going there a couple of weeks ago for Con's CnP event, Im probably going to bring a white of
some description, as it will lend well to the food....... but then i have a lot of reds I want to bring as well!

*sigh*

Even though its an 'open' choice, it actually makes it harder :D

I've looked at CellarTracker a few times now and still can't decide what to bring. Things would be so much easier if I only had Coonawarra Cabernet and Shiraz in my cellar.

Got ideas.

Also considering white - is there a split on colours that we should try and hit?

I'm thinking red. There are a couple of entrees that will compliment a white... I always like to start with a white or two.

I think mainly red, but others may differ. A white to start is always good.

My preference would be to keep it to mainly red with a white or two to start with. I'm also bringing a sparkling (white) to kick things off. If you've definitely decided to bring a white please post so we don't end up with too many whites.

Two or three whites is fine (Rossco, Rory, Via Collins). There's a few entrees at Bergerac that will pair well with whites.

Whoops!

My daughter's 18th birthday party just changed date - to the 25th!!! Arrghh, out of my hands.

Open up that reserve, and bon appetit all - I fear for what I will now be drinking on that night :(
