G'day
My last TN on this wine was nearly 3 years ago, at a dinner which featured most of the Myattsfield Reserve reds made since the first one in 2004. The composition has changed over time. This is the TN from then:
"2009 Joseph Myatt Reserve is another intriguing blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Petit Verdot and 9% Merlot. The blackcurrant and plum of the 2007 is supplemented by licorice, violets / florals giving aromatic lift, some mint and tobacco. There's a bit of a gap mid-palate, but the flavours and tannins are well integrated, and I was happy to have my glass topped up."
This is looking really good now. The nose is a more amplified version of the wine described above, and the palate is rich, with chocolate and red fruits filling the palate, while tannins and acid are supporting well. Slight alcohol heat, but otherwise all in balance.
Probably at its peak now. A fully formed wine.
Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
