I have given up on Bouchard whites
I love them
We had a 2008 Genevrieres 2 weeks ago that shone but I reckon our oxidation rate is about 60-70%

Under Diam now not cork and I will return them if premoxed. I tasted these wines a couple of weeks ago at Prince in Melb and they were bloody good indeed. Bouchard said they want to know about premoxed bottles and encouraged folks to bring em bac to the retailer. we will see...

Good questions. I believe the guarantee is between Diam and the wine producer. I'm not sure how that would play out in the case where a bottle purchased in Australia was premoxed. I'm not sure how the Diam's are labelled, but if Diam is offering a guarantee they must have some way of determining which version was used and when.

The Diam's I've opened have had numbering on them. I knew it was for the guarantee thing, but never took note of the number as they've all been fine so far (not premoxed, not corked).

Sure enough that I ordered 6 bottles. Not tasted yet but already available overseas so bought based on the comments of others.

e.g. Tasting note by Ian D'Agata: "Bright red-ruby. The captivating nose combines strawberry, raspberry, minerals, violet and flint aromas. Creamy-sweet but amazingly light on its feet, offering palate-staining, perfumed flavors of soft red berries, ripe red cherry, vanilla, aromatic herbs and crushed rock. Rich, ripe and suave, but displays a penetrating, saline and energetic quality that gives this beauty a three-dimensional mouthfeel and a light-on-its-feet quality. I do respect D'agats for Italy though, and have heard the rumblings about 2014 so will give it a try on arrival.

15% ABV isn't unusual for a Passopisciaro. Some previous vintages were at this level (2008 was at 15%, 2012 was 15.5%). They've never tasted hot to me.

What do you mean great oak Rossco?

I was referring to the quality of the French Oak and how well it has integrated into the wine. It is prominent without being distracting or over powering.

The colour is slightly blurred showing its age, but should last another two-three years. Its under screw cap, however the fruit has definitely taken a
back seat and secondary aged characters are more noticeable (cigar box, leather etc) and the tannis are all but gone. I bought these to drink, so
over the next year or so I will crack them all.

Having a read of the winery website: Matured in predominantly small, French oak barriques for 26 months. Approx 40% of the barrels were new.

Interesting to note, current vintage of this wine has Maturation for 19 months in 66% French (38% new) and 34% older American oak barriques.
