1998 Redbank Sally's Paddock magnum, Pyrenees (cork): 13.5% alc. Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc & Merlot from the block planted in 1973. Hand picked, made with wild yeast, hand punched and basket pressed, matured in new American and Nevers oak. Medium to dark red/garnet. Still a healthy lick of cedar oak on the nose and palate along with juicy red berry fruits and black liquorice, strong menthol with breathing. The palate’s earthy and just over medium-weight, the finish velvety and soft; the wine is in a good place in magnum format, drink now.
