I just got one of the 2005 Ch Rieussec's out to try at an offline soon. It is starting to develop those yummy marmalade colours. It should be an interesting wine. 6 is a good number to allow you to watch its development over time.

Middle of winter here, so obviously the time for Muscadet..A few bottles of 13 and 14 Clisson and 12 Chateau Thebaud. All made by Domain del la Pepiere. Tried a ´10 from them last summer and it was probably the most finely balanced wine I drank all year. Just now have to wait for some warm sun to arrive...

In the winter vain, 6 bottles of Little Wine Nr 6 from Sami-Odi.

Hi Ozzie, I know where you have been! The siren call of the auction house. Actually I admire your restraint given what was on offer....

Brodie

BTW, some nice wines, the BdM riservas will be very nice (in time)

Bought some 2006 de Bortoli 'Noble One' Semillon Sauterne and found it to be very rich and ready to drink. It is already quite dark in colour and full of honeyed, tropical fruit and a bit treacly as the acidity is on the low side so I don't think this one is meant for the long haul.

A couple from a recent auction to help top up the cellar after a big Xmas/New Year:

1 x Franklin Tate Estates 2013 Miamup Vineyard Margaret River Cabernet Merlot
1 x Franklin Tate Estates 2014 Miamup Vineyard Margaret River Cabernet Merlot

Much more required however credit card too hot to handle after having to replace some air conditioning at home. Ouch!!

I am a big fan of great wine + food pairings, Barolo Chinato + dark chocolate (and/or hazelnut) anything is heaven.

But in general, yes, I like Barolo Chinato.

Did something that I have not done for years, walked into a rather large bottle shop at a local pub on the spur of the moment, purchased two mixed dozens of reds that appealed, re both price and reputation, and then was given 20% off the price...for slightly less than $450 all up.
6 2014 WDC Hammerhead Shiraz malbec...Duck says that this is his ode to Tony Brady
6 2014 Greenock Creek Apricot Block Shiraz
6 2014 Tim Smith Barossa Shiraz
6 2014 (I think) Tar and Roses Heathcote Shiraz

And some more:
6 pack Wynns Harold 2013 Cabernet
6 pack Seppelts Drumborg 2016 Riesling.

Cheers
Craig
Tomorrow will be a good day
