Need Help. Dry Style of OZ Bubbles

Post by Chuck »

Like cars once you go to the next level it's hard to go back. Trying to keep my taste buds down market we have mostly drunk $25-$35 OZ bubbles except for special occasions however after tasting the French stuff OZ bubbles are now too sweet. We have tried a number without success. Are there any reasonably priced OZ bubbles that you can recommend we try? We do love the dry as the Sahara style.

I am not a big bubbles drinker but would recommend the following dry styles:

Kilikanoon NV Vouvray Methode Traditionelle
Pike & Joyce 'Methode Traditionelle'' Chardonnay Pinot Noir

Clover Hill has a small dosage from memory.
As sch5252 has suggested, I also like good Aussie sparkling Chenin and Blind Corner's' Crémant is v good with low residual and old oak which helps the perception of less sweetness.
