A big month for me (particularly given that the Wendouree mailer is looming on the horizon), but I figure it's justified given I'm not quaffing at the moment :)

I picked these up at an auction during the week. The sherry comes from the 40´s and I have no idea of the style. Cant quite believe the level and condition of the Black Label. 2 bottles with fills well into the neck...Got to be fakes as I´m sure the whole collector world is after 12 Euro, minor Auz Cabernet...might try 1 with a BBQ on Sunday.

12 x 2013 Ferngrove Frankland River Malbec. Good example of this grape. Not too over ripe like the Argentinian stuff sold in the USA. A good midweek quaffer.

Have been holding off this month. Then tahbilk emails me saying $150 per doz ($12.50 per bottle) of 2011 cabernet. Free delivery.....fvk....ok john here is my card. Then i realise i have a $60 friends credit.....now its $90 for the case.

Not a great year, but for that price, great everyday drinking.

Any truth that there was no reserve or old vines caberbet made that year and that fruit went into this release?

Deejay, any chance you are based on Sydney? Fancy bringing some super Tuscans to a Tuscan (formerly Brunello) evening? :D

Hi Mark,
Yup, I'm Syd based, and I'd love to come as I've had no Brunello's before and would be a great opportunity to try some, and yeah I could have contributed with some Super Tuscan's but circumstances prevent me from making it :( or, well, would be less than a 50/50 chance... sorry

I had a 85 Sassicia a few years ago that blew my mind.
Then I purchased a minivertical in NZ with a 98 that showed well.
If you like super tuscans then try a Ghizanno Nambrot- I tried one two nights ago- tidy and maybe off the radar- 45 bucks
