It seems the lure of Burgundy is strong in Sydney.

Looking forward to the tasting notes.

Also was away when this got going so I would be keen to taste some Burgs with the 1er table.
I could even handle Brown Sugar if you are organising Mark!

If anyone wants to start another Sydney burg tasting either alongside this one or possibly shortly before/after then by all means go ahead. 8)

I don't want the hassle of having to organise one of those multi-table mega tastings, especially here in Indonesia, and inevitably things come up for some people forcing them out which means reserves are almost always going to get bumped into the top 12. Give it some time and see how it pans out.

Hmmmmm I'm suspecting many would prefer a Friday night, but that comes with the risk of not finding a restaurant that does BYO Friday that's to everyone's liking.

How about Thursday 3rd and we eat at La Boheme in Glebe. They had a nice spacious section upstairs that we made good use of last time. I also liked the size of the portions.

How does that sound to people? Any other suggestions for location? I'm all ears (or, eyes?).

By the way, if Friday is more preferable for the masses, does anyone have favourite restaurants that do Friday BYO?

If there is enough overflow for another table would those overflows be interested in another Burg offline? People from this one can join that as well.

Happy with Thursday the 3rd Alex.

Also, no issue for mine with an overflow table.

Okay great. With the overflow, as I said before, best to give it a few more weeks and wait to see if people have to drop out. Odds are there'll be a few, as work/family/health commitments inevitably pop up.

Hi catch,

I would prefer Friday because I don't have to worry about work next day. However, I am alright with 3rd (Thursday) too.

I can make it on Thursday but not on Friday. I'll keep an eye on your final decision. Cheers.

i am more than happy to arrange a table at Brown Sugar for the overflow - i go there regularly. if we get closer to the date and there are still around 6 odd then that's a perfect number and I will call the restaurant. alternatively people may prefer a quiet wee venue in the East. Last time it took an hour to get home from Roseville though well worth the experience.

Just bumping this up to remind the masses, I saw there's another offline going on as well on the 24th - so check that out people.

Also, as a side note, for this offline Beaujolais does count. Organiser's call. I figure with 12 attendees and most bringing 2 bottles, having a few bottles of booj in the mix would be refreshing. Also, it is technically Burgundy according to AOC rules. :D

Hey Alex, I can't do the3rd either now. I made other plans when this was full and the other offline came up. I get back from a few days fishing in FNQ that day and if I go straight to a wine dinner, divorce will be on the cards!!

Funny that, I touch down in Sydney on the morning of the 24th. I was eyeing the other offline in case they couldn't fill all the seats, but I think if I neglected my family on the first night back I would be in for the guilt trip of a life time.

Might as well get in early.

I'm bringing 2 Reds. Not named as I'm not sure if this is blind or not. (would prefer not but am usually in the minority)

Half decent vineyards but smaller less well known producers. My little quest to see if it is the vineyard or the producer.

No worries, maybe next time!

As for blind vs. non-blind, I'll leave it to the individual as to how they want to present their wines. You can always have a mix between the two, I'm sure it'll be a great night either way. 8)

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Luckily for me I've managed to engineer a redundancy so am on gardening leave.
Unfortunately I've just got gout in my right ankle. Nothing a few tablets won't fix.

See you on the 3rd.
I appreciate all forms of alcohol, as long as its wine.
