Well said Chris. You took the words right out of my mouth, as Meatloaf said.

The clue is in the title.

As someone on the reserve list, that is what I was expecting.

Don't worry, hopefully, this is a long term thing. Most people will get sick of this overpriced, fruit-lacking, acidic wine and drop out leaving a core of fools who vainly cellar expensive grog through a long 'dumb phase' more difficult to predict than Wendouree. And then the Montrachet will be premoxed and the Musigny ruined by Brett.

Anyone else for the reserve list? Were preparing our coloured crayons at this very moment. :P

Seriously, fingers crossed we can accommodate everyone who really wants to be involved eventually. Carl, I mean you

Thanks for your understanding. I'm sure it must be a little frustrating. Unfortunately, I don't think there's another way of doing this that will lead to long term success. :|

yea, if there are 4 guys on the "reserve" list who do not get a gig, it is no problem.... we can just book a table for four!! Can't see a problem with that. :D

The first dinner for this group is now just under a week away. Is everyone on this list still coming ?

Shark Fin Inn is 50 Little Bourke St in the city (between Exhibition and Spring).

Time is 7pm, and most likely we will be upstairs. Ask for booking under Chris or Burgundy group. BYO Pinot glass or forever regret.

I'm revving and ready to go! Even purchased a couple Zalto Burgundy glasses after putting it off for so long. :)

Mrs. Hacker is otherwise engaged that night  so that opens up a spot for someone.

Could I ask a favour, I can't really bring decent stems with me from Sydney, the wife and daughter will think what a total wine wanker I am (as if they don't think that already) could someone bring a couple for me?

Hacker,

As much as I would love to see you declared a certified 'wine wanker', I will bring you a glass.

Hi all, given there's just the one empty spot open and I was intending on coming with a +1, I'm happy to forgo the spot for the next solo person in line.

Well, made it to Melbourne yesterday and have been at the tennis from 10am to 11pm today. What a great event the Aussie Open is! And my Burg stash arrived safely for consumption on Monday night. Can't wait!

Looking forward to tomorrow. I haven't got a suitable backup for the evening so will bring some bubbles to get us going.

Is anyone planning on doing a double decant or are we popping and pouring?

PS. Tomorrow is a fruit day so all the hipster biodynamic wines will taste good.
