I assume a large number of users here buy wine based on WF reviews. They seem to have replaced JO as the main alternative to Halliday. Their scores are now on wine searcher. Oliver probably sells more annuals in China these days.....

I definitely wouldnt be complaining with that lineup!
I've forgotten how many bottles of wine I've drank to this day... And at this point I'm too afraid to ask.

Mount Pleasant O'Shea has become my absolute favourite Aus wine (thanks to the tips from this Board) but I just had a look at the 2014 release. Holy Moly!!! Now that is some price jump. Might look for earlier vintages to back-fill, the 2007 is my favourite. Anyone think the 2014 O'Shea is worth the entry ticket? I am curious, as i am still thinking of purchasing some to keep the line going.

Obviously I do as I purchased some. But saying that, 2014 is undoubtedly the best vintage in the last 50 years for the Hunter. Furthermore, this is the first time that vines from the Rosehill vineyard have been fermented and bottled separately. Yes, the price has gone up big time, but so has the quality.

Are these from Cellar door only? I can see them on the website but not to buy even though I'm a member who buys a crapload from them...

so far this month's purcahses:
6 x NV Taittinger
24 x 2007 Mount Pleasant Elizabeth
6 x 2014 Mount Pleasant Mothervine

Yes. It's CD only. But you can purchase over the phone like I did. Word on the street is that they'll sell out by COB today of the 1965, so you need to be quick if you want any.

I gave in...

1 x 2014 Mount Pleasant Wines Shiraz 1965 Vines Rosehill

Way too much coin for my liking and having not tasted them yet... Oh well

Oh and in case people are wondering, they made 150 cases of each.

Nope, maybe half the amount. You can pick it up usually on the secondary market for around $60-$70 for older vintages. It's gone from about $80, to $120 to $180 in the last 5 years. Becoming like Bordeaux where you can backfill cheaper with ready to drink wines.

I am certain you are right Dave, but I have my fourth son born in 2014, so I figure the purchase is in a good cause.

Exactly - if I wasn't getting staff prices on these I wouldn't have bought them. November to March they're better left at the winery!

Surely the Rosehill bottles from the past contained wine from the vines of the vineyard, fermented and bottled separately? Judging from the other posts I guess what you mean is that sections of the vineyard have been fermented and bottled separately, hence what appears to be "1946" and "1965" Rosehills.

Has the regular Rosehill disappeared or is it a "degraded" wine now that the superior stuff is bottled separately. Great marketing if you ask me. Break up the vineyards into small, scarce lots, drive up collector and point craving demand, and jack up the prices. Genius. Of course it has been done before in that Bailey's had the 1920s and 1904 Blocks, but it strikes me as more of a gimmick than anything else.

Mahmoud.

I was at Mt Pleasant last week and was shocked buy the prices of the "flagship" reds. I tried the OP and Rosehill and found them to be nice wines but couldn't bring myself to part with the asking price at the Cellar door. For that price point there are a lot of good wines around.
