Quicky Wine Dinner in Sydney next Thursday anybody ?

Post by markg »

I have to go and sort out some wine at our Sydney depot on Thursday (hint - hint to anybody with some wine they want to sell) and thought a nice dinner in the evening would be a great way to wind down :)

Anyone interested ? I will ship a couple of bottles of something so they arrive in time.
Cheers

Any suggestions for food ? I can always get my hotel near the restaurant.

Well since you are going to Waterloo we could do a restaurant in Newtown which is fairly close.

Linda's on King (could be good as a dry run for another tasting I might be having there :-)
Sofritto
Rubyos

are all options

Or you can do Brio again.

Lindas seems to have great reviews for food and service, kill two birds and do a "not too dry" run :)

(although that Gnocci was to die for).

Krusty spoke to Linda's briefly today and they are keen to have some wino's in next week. I'll Email them to see what options we can have food-wise. From Krusty's report she is a bit of a wine lover as well so that's good.

We have around 5 already. So wait until Friday for numbers and we'll go from there.

K... Sending a couple of bottles tomorrow so should be there in time otherwise it will be a bottle shop job :)

Assuming that Lindas is the go and will grab a hotel somewhere within staggering distance.

Yep had a fun night. We got to get collectively stuck into Polymer (all in good fun) and had some good discussions :D . Is always fascinating getting an insiders insight into the Auction market in Australia.

Food was good, not great although I'd go again in a heartbeat. The Duck and Pork Rillettes was very nice, the steak only so-so (bit dry) and the dessert (A Ginger Cake) was massive! Service was good.

Range of wines from a 91 Koonunga Hill (cliniced 2012), 2005 Ridge Zinfandel, Billecart Champers, Tahbilk Reserve Cabernet, Schloss Lieser Spatlese, Clonakilla Rizza, and a few others plus a few corked/scalped wines.
