2015 Coonawarra Roadshow

Post by Cactus »

Sydney event was held last night at Town Hall - first time for me. What a really good night. Around 3 hours of tasting & milling around your favourite wines and some you've never tried before. Must have been around 25 or so wineries there.

Highlights for me?
2013 vintage - I know the 2010 & 2012 get a lot of attention, but I thought the 2013 vintage was pretty damn good. I might have gone too hard on the 2012
The Wynns Range - No surprises here per the Wynnsday thread. I liked the BL Shiraz (not as much as 2012), the Childs, the Michael and the John Riddoch. Very surprised out the Michael that the oak was not huge. It was actually drinking well young.
Majella - the Cab Sav would be my goto of the quaffers for the evening.
Petaluma - the Coonawarra Cab/Merlot blend 2012 was very impressive. I dont have nearly enough in the cellar.
Lindamens Trio - I really think the product is improving over time. I have the 2009, the 2012 and at the roadshow the 2013. Like all of the wines, but the discounting on this label makes me think its best to wait.

Thanks for this Cactus, will go along based on your feedback.
The white Lindies labels that are on the 2013 releases will take a little getting used to.

Yes Michael 2012 for me is a belter.

Cheers
Craig.
Tomorrow will be a good day
