Restaurants in Canberra

I am planning to head down to Canberra with the family on the long weekend and was hoping some of you extraordinarily well informed folks could throw some good restaurant recommendations my way. I am not really concerned cuisine style or price, we are a pretty flexible bunch, but somewhere with a good wine list is a priority.
Will probably be staying at the Hyatt and ideally looking for something within a 10-15minute cab ride from there.

Best wine lists and decent food are:

Temporada - Civic - share plates
Aubergine - Griffith - white table cloth restaurant
Parlour Wine Room - Acton - tapas and a bar
Morks - Kingston foreshore - thai fusion
Italian & Sons - Braddon - Italian and a bar
86 - Kingston - mod with small but reasonable wine list
Pod Food - Pialligo - modern with excellent wine list

Plenty of others but that should keep you busy

If you want to pack something decent for the trip down, Malamay and Lilo Tang in Barton and Wild Duck on the Kingston Foreshore all allow byo and have decent glassware. Of those that Ross listed, I recall Morks also on the Kingston Foreshore allows byo. All have websites that will give you menus and a price indication. Barton and Kingston are both about a $20 cab fare (or less) from the city.

I haven't been to Lilo Tang, I assume it is as good as their other restaurants?

Been to Lilo Tang twice - brilliant experience the first time (although we were drinking byo burgundy including an outstanding 2005 Bachelet Charmes Chambertin VV gc, which helped enliven the night) and good the next. Probably a reflection of much better service the first time. From memory the byo charge is $15 per bottle and if you take something good, don't be reticent about asking them to whip next door and grab the better glassware from Malamay if they are not rushed.

I decided spontaneously to goto Wild Duck last night for dinner and surprise the fun coordinator. It was reasonably disappointing value wise. $30+ mains should be outstanding! The service was excellent though! Corkage at $12 pb. Wine list OK.

Beijing House in Hawker on the other hand always delivers in terms of value and service and many of their dishes are outstanding. A perfect place to take the take the family. Buy some wine in the local next door. The Canberra wine mob has had many dinners there.
