Wine Storage - Canberra

Post by PDG »

Hi all,

Anyone know where I can store some wine in Canberra in a temperature/humidity controlled facility?

Candamber Fine Wines in Belconnen are full

Cheers

Hi Paul

I rent a one cubic metre space at Capital Self Storage in Queanbeyan which costs about $75 a month (incl. insurance). It's climate controlled but I'm not sure about the humidity. Their phone number is 6299 2486. I think the same firm has a few other places in Canberra but I'm not sure about the wine storage.

By the way would you be interested in joining three, albeit familiar, hackers for our Golf Day at Federal on 20 Nov?

Cheers

Thanks guys, I'll check them out tomorrow. I'm getting a little paranoid about this heat, and the fact that I can't find anywhere in my house that has a constant low(er) temperature.

Julian, would love a game but I'm in NZ 13th-23rd Nov. Free next weekend for a hit if you are available?

Cheers

So, now that Candamber have closed down I've relocated my wine to a spot in Queanbeyan. I understand it's temperature controlled (don't think humidity), however I'm not convinced their measures to keep it at a constant temperature are any good. I called them earlier to ask if they turn the air con off during the winter. His response was they turn the heating on to keep it at a constant 16 degrees +/- 1 degree.

My question, is the heating going to create humidity/condensation issues?

Or am I just being paranoid?

Do any other Canberrans know of any decent storage facilities?

Cheers
Paul
