wineforlife wrote:Hey Polymer,
Actually Korean food goes really well with big bold Shiraz. Especially their BBQ. I think I know which restaurant you mean.
I am not a fan of Kimchi but freshly made Kimchi ( not fermented ) can be very good.
We can go to Korean BBQ nexttime as well if you want, I can never say no to big Shiraz.

It goes with some things...like some of the meats in Korean BBQ (I'm not sure how we got on this subject since I was just using it as an example..and I'm not Korean. I'm not actually asking you if you're Korean and like Korean food).... Big Bold reds don't go with a lot of other things...like Soon Tofu, Kimchi Stew, etc. Beer and Soju are both better with Korean food in general. Even with Korean BBQ, you have chili sauce and Kimchi and other spicy things...or even spicy pork, etc...

wineforlife wrote:Anyway Are you coming as well Polymer? It would be great to see you and discuss possible next venue. We can go Italian next so you can have your Pizza and Chips, I will have Pasta and Salad. Bellissimo :D

I'm not saying I want Pizza and Chips..but that I'd be ok with that because the food is really secondary for me...although a lot of people want good food..I want good food to but really if someone wanted to do an offline with Pizza I'd be ok with that as well.

Hi Polymer, looks like some miss understanding. I never said you are Korean. I did not said I am Korean either. Did I mention sun tofu? No. I only started writing this as you have written something about kimchi and korean restaurant. Excuse me? I am the one comfused why we are talking about korean and their food in first place? You did ask me if I am Korean. I dont mind but I am the one should be asking why we are talking about korean and their food first place not the other way around.
I consider Asian cousine good food. I consider italian cousine to be good food. Have you tried very good Pizza from Italian restaurant? There is highclass food in all different countries not just the french.
We are sticking with Good Thai for this tasting.
You have still not answered the simple question.
Are you in?

Man I'm lost...

Let me just say I wasn't saying you're Korean or asking you about Korean food although looking at my post I guess I can see how one might read it that way.....

I plan on going to this though...
I will probably bring a NZ Syrah and an AU Shiraz...not sure what though...

Welcome aboard. Syrah, shiraz all great with me. It will be epic to see Burges face dealing with NZ Syrah though
(Kiwi's make some damn fine wines too)

Getting pumped for this tasting guys!

Hi Sam, I hope you can join us next time. :)

Guys, I initially thought of bringing Jean Louis Chave St Joseph Offerous 2009 with my Langmeil Freedom shiraz 2010.
But since I am bringing Freedom shiraz, I will also bring it's little brother Orphan Bank shiraz 2008 instead of Mr Chave.
I have not tried both Langmeil side by side. Let's see if big brother is so much better or not 8)

Hey Polymer, good to see you getting keen.

Yes, it will definately happen. This tasting will be collaboration between RBG members and Auswine members.

Hacker said he might be coming. ( I apologised to him for mistaking him for somebody else. Considering we've never met, we are on excellent terms :D )
I will try to bring my father as well. I served him hermitage la chapelle jaboulet 1995, 1998 in Paris sometime back for wedding. He thought they were rubbish. He only drinks and likes big Aussie Shiraz. I think he will like this event more than me.
2 or 3 more from RBG members are coming. I will post it nearer the date of exactly who is coming. Those of you not on the RBG member, join in. One of best investment I have ever done as a Wine drinker. It is so cheap. Don't delay it. Join now! Here is the link http://redbigot.info/RBG.htm We also have couple of tastings lined up for sydney RBG members.

Should be a bloody good night :D

I apologise, I said I might be able to make it, but I have a prior engagement that night. Pity, the wines would be great to try.
