Few days up in the Clare Valley. Awesome weather and some good chin wags with various makers/growers.
Most white grapes picked but a lot of red varieties still awaiting their turn.
Kept an eye out for previous vintage bargains as new releases approach.
Also kept an eye out for slow moving tractors and machinery at this time of year.

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

My apologies. when you wrote the other day you had jump started your collection with Grange I thought you were taking the p***. Nice wines. I had the "94 a few years back at a vertical tasting and remember especially enjoying this vintage.

Re: March Purchases.
A couple from the wine lottery:
1 x 1986 Moss Wood Cabernet
2 x 1996 Penfolds Bin 28
1 x 1999 Dead Arm
and 8 others probably not worth mentioning to fill out a case (including some vintage port). All from the same cellar, so hoping they were treated well over their life time.

Agree. Many of the Penfolds releases from the 94 vintage were in the upper echelon of wines made that year

G'day Ross, have you tried any of the Teusner yet?
I bought some on faith based on a couple of previous Riebke and Joshua I'd tried ... just opened one with lunch ( I cooked up a spice-crusted 'roo fillet with pumpkin / potato / herb mash) after a hard morning's gardening and I have to say it's really good for the price! A nice medium bodied red with some sweet fruit and a nice dryness to the finish that matches well with food. Yes a little simple and a touch of confection, but very tasty I have to say.
