Last year the Sydney forumites had a number of offlines, but the one that gave the most enjoyment to those in attendance was undoubtedly the Rockford dinner. So without further ado I am announcing the 2014 Rockford Offline! We will try to replicate or even outdo last years extravaganza. Details are as follows, but are changeable to suit participants: Thursday 5th June (changeable to suit if not convenient) at Cafe Lyon in Lindfield http://www.cafelyon.com.au/ opposite Lindfield station. Max 10 people, condition of entry - bring a Basket Press or a SVS. I'll kick off with a '96 or '98 BP depending on what others nominate.
Anyone interested?

I would crack that the night before or a decant first thing that morning imo. Had one recently and my mate decanted it at 2pm for an evening session. Still very closed.
I haven't yet tried the '06 and on a proper reading of the thread Tim may well bring an '04, so pencil me in for the '06 subject to it also being a double up
Hope that helps tempt you along if you can make it Michael. Also thanks for the tip re NYC, have a lunch time booking for Eleven Madison Park in a week, looking forward to it already
You can find me on Instagram at oz_oenophile Follow for my little wine journey.

Nice one maybs, let u know ASAP how it goes, also on Mick's recco, we're thinking about a lunch there in June....
I went to the sister restaurant NoMad last night. Good, but no EMP. 35 bucks corkage if youre interested.
@Maybs.. Nice one,..…fingers crossed it performs as hyped! @Tim, I really hope your itinerary works out and you can give it a shot @Mike...Nomad looks very cool, like the sound of the summer outdoor area too....do EMP allow BYO?
I should add to my initial comment, the 04 BP is still a lovely wine, I just prefer the 06 version. The 04 has never really knocked my socks off, but the 06 certainly has. Only based on a few bottles of each mind you…so hardly an expert
We are confirmed at Cafe Lyon downstairs, couldn't get upstairs - a large group already up there. Summary of attendees:

Full at present. If anyone pulls out we can take someone else.

I'm going to have to miss this one unfortunately, if there's someone else keen to jump in... Hopefully the wines show as well as the last rockford offline, i can still taste that wonderful 98.
As mentioned, i brought an 04 SVS Hoffman to a casual dinner last weekend, as as lazy back up. Massive massive wine, years form being ready obviously. Honestly i'm not certain i'll like it in 15-20 years when it should have settled down, time will tell.
I am only sad that I live in Adelaide other wise I would be there will bells on. Never enough BP, but yes had a 96 vine vale the other day and it was beautiful.

Bet it will be a good one!!
We will miss you and Michael.
But this frees up two spots for any Sydney forumites to come along, just bring a cherished Rockford red, either a SVS, BP or a Black Shiraz. We ate at Cafe Lyon last night; knockout food and service!

Still one place free guys for next Thursday 5th June. Great venue with superb food, and a vertical of Basket Press covering almost 15 years! I'm surprised we're not fighting people off!

Shame I'm the other side of the world... I have a few vintages from the 80s which need drinking soon.
