Great post, thanks. Am drinking a 2002 Wynns Cabernet Sauvignon at the moment funnily enough.

Sean, thank you so much for the notes on Wynns BL. I concur with you 100%. The 2008 is a nice wine and when a friend who does some legals for said corporation dropped 2 dozen off at $15pb...hard to resist.
I agree that the 2010 and the upcoming 2012 BL will be hard to beat and will be 30 year jobs under stelvin. I also suspect that they will give the corresponding JR of their respective vintages a good run for the money. Even though 82 JR is a beautiful wine, good bottles of 82 BL are better IMHO.
The 2011 BL is an absolute bastard... a green thin cruel wine that will never come round...although someone here will look me up in 20 years (and if Gavin still runs this forum) to stick it right up me. I have now tried this wine 8 times, as recent as last night, and what was really brutal was an honest assessment from about 6 women at a party, who again IMHO have a better palate then men. Ohh black label Wynns they purred...this should be good...but universally rejected in favour of a Teusner Ribeke or a Mitchell's Peppertree.
My local chain has not shifted any 2011 BL....other than placing it in different sections in the shop. It is on its 4th or 5th cycle of discounting but at around $25 just sits there. 2010 all gone. Sean suspect you are right with the plethora of labels now, with 2012 V&As, potential of two single vineyard cabernet wines to get more money in the till, the difficult child from 2011 will be consigned to history.
