Bendigo Show Grounds 23rd Nov

Post by triumphant »

I will pop in to the Bendigo Showgrounds and hopefully obtain some great Heathcote region Shiraz this weekend. Any one else going. Cheers

Hi Triumphant,

It may just be because 'paranoid' is my miiddle name but your 2 posts so far appear to me to be posts of someone who works in marketing in the wine industry... this could be an unfair/incorrect assumption I am making, so apologies if I am wrong. Would you mind declaring any links the wine industry? We have a number of people people who work in the wine industry on this blog (e.g. Gary, Sparky, etc...) and I think their involvement / input is fantastic so please don't feel you wouldn't be welcome, although I don't think you are meant to use this blog for marketing purposes...

As an aside, I am an accountant from Perth and have not links to the wine industry (other than as a consumer).

Cheers
Ben

Agree 100% with you Ben, and most people think that bloke from Adelaide is a bit of a nut or a shit stirrer (me) but yes strolling in with the first two posts such as triumphant has is not good form.

I have no affliation with the wine industry either...

Triumphant, I have a lot of wine from the Bendigo area ( one of the unsung regions in Australia IMHO), so after you have got yourself sorted lets here about it.

Cheers
Craig.
Tomorrow will be a good day

I have no affiliation with any winery or wine seller I am a normal run of the mill person who likes wine and cant believe that people think my first two posts are not valid to a wine forum The low price good review wines are a reason for me to buy and try then in post 2 I mention of all things a wine show -sacrilege and get another caning - Bit petty I think buy hey I'm all new to the politics of wine forums so excuse me

Hey Triumphant,

No one here means you any harm, but please understand this forum has been abused before by a variety of spammers and even folks who work in marketing departments for some very big wine companies.

Perhaps introduce yourself a little, and put the genteel folk here at ease?

Andrew

(PS I have an industry affiliation - I'm part owner of a small producer in NZ. I deal with that by declaring it from time to time, everyone seems OK with that,)

Hi Triumphant,

Thanks for clarifying - as I said previously my apologies if it was an incorrect assumption so, I'm sorry.

Welcome to the forum. Hope the showground visit goes well - I'd really appreciate any tips you have for good Heathcote shiraz as we don't see much of it in Perth.

Cheers
Ben

P.s. happy to return the favour re margaret river cab sav as I've tried a fair bit of recent vintages.

I've booked myself in to the 1:30 wine masterclass, FWIW. It looks like there are some good wineries exhibiting, so I'm looking forward to it. Close to. 2hr drive either way...
