Got mine yesterday. As usual, I didn't get any straight Cabernet.

got mine this morning, 2 bottles of everything except cabernet. and a letter saying unable to supply everything i ordered. so the cabernet is more popular than shiraz?

It's the one I always miss out on as a "red striper". Not sure why.

This is my first order ,I always thought Shiraz was always the one that will out of stock first.

I was going to write a note within the order form and ask them to fill up the box with whatever is left if other wines are all gone but it sounds like I'm asking for too much. My order came with 1 box full and other one is half full.

I got a funny feeling for next years order, probably will end up just the letter showing up saying "all gone". :(

Same here. Is it a Melbourne thing?? :p

Next time I will write on my order form, if you are not going to give me cabernet, can I have 3some other bottles. I paid full 6 pack freight for 3 bottles :(

Another "no Cabernet". It was a particularly tough vintage, and I wonder if there was very little Cab that survived/ripened? Saying that, I have only got once out of four orders! Never got any Malbec before, so it was nice to get that! Only year I got everything was 2009 vintage..

Hmmm... So much for the black initials. I got nothing, nil, nada, this year. Admittedly I only ordered the Shiraz and perhaps should have ordered a spread of wines, but not even a substitute was offered. I'm not sulking (any more) but was a little put out having ordered since the early 1990's.

So all you guys who got stuff on your first order, well done! Be blowed how Wendouree work their allocation system.

I feel better now. :)

Golly, that surprises me. Have you given them a quick call to ask if a mistake was made? I know the general feeling is its best to order across the range...but Wendouree also look after their long-time customers.

I spoke with Lita Brady, who said they ran out of shiraz, even though I sent in my order the day after receiving it. Anyway, she is such a nice lady that it serves no purpose to whinge or express disappointment, or to question about mistakes, as I recon I'm on a hiding to nothing - and I have so many other Wendourees in the cellar to fall back on! And with the great 2012 vintage coming out next year as well.

Surely lightening can't strike twice! :? Besides, I'm out of therapy now, and I can talk about it. :)

I sent my form back the day after I received it, and only got my wines last Friday. Looks like it may be a case of first in, last out, with the first forms starting at the bottom of the pile?

Got 6 bottles of all except straight Cab. Not concerned tbh.

I have recently received my 2011 allocation (shiraz, malbec and cab/mel), has anyone tried any of these wines yet? With out cracking one of each I'd love to know what wines are drinking the best, and which to lay down.
cheers

Dave Vino tried the Shiraz here.. http://forum.auswine.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13341

A bunch of us also tried the Wendouree 2011 Malbec the other night..... Felt more like a Shiraz than a Malbec, nothing wrong with it, but nothing remarkable either. Mind you, we had just had some old French Bordeaux before it, so it immediately came across as sweet, young and very 'Australian'. (Not that there's anything wrong with that :-)

Cheers
Tim

Hey Tim,
Thanks for the reply, I gave the Shiraz a go...very nice wine but not what I was expecting, almost like a western aus Shiraz, light, peppert, and elegant. A very nice well made wine but I cant wait for the full throttle 2012. In the interim I might have to give the Malbec a go !

Cheers,
Dayne

Sorry Hacker, will not mention it again
Its a bit like NYC Mike, his champagne habits make me absolutely drool...if I am ever in his neighbourhood I hope the cellar is open
