I really appreciate the effort everyone has gone into to get us there, but I'm afraid that many, many factors are conspiring against us this time, so we will have to give it a miss. I do apologise, and hope you all have a fabulous meal!

One of my health issues resurfaced again last Friday, but I still hope to make it for the offline. Planning to take a 1995 Houghton Show Reserve Shiraz - subject to the cork, it should give the Centenary a pretty good contest.

Cheers,
Ian

My +1 has confirmed. I'll bring the Wendouree and I'll find out what he's bringing.

Sorry to hear that your health issues haven't completely resolved yet Ian.

My +1 might be +2 (i.e. an extra person). I should know by the end of today.

There are a couple of sparklers in the mix already... I've a 98 Billecart Nicolas Francois I've been itching to open for a while. Should I take that, or hunt down something else?

The champagne sounds great and gets my vote. The champagnes will go well with the appetiser (both 98s too which should make for a good comparison) and we can have the sparkling red and the still pinot with the pork dish, leaving the reds for the steak.

Cheers

Sweet. I was thinking the two 98's would be interesting.

See you tomorrow night.

I've a late inclusion - a 2010 Rockford Basket Press. Too young to be opened but I didn't have a choice, so it's joining the Champagne tonight.

Is there a limit to how much wine I can bring? I have a bunch of leftovers from tastings in the Barossa and Adelaide Hills that some people might want to try or take home. I just won't have time to drink them. They're open but still very drinkable as far as I can tell. Do you think it would be OK for me to bring them along?

Thanks everyone for making my first offline a brilliant one. I woke up feeling like someone had installed a washing machine in my stomach but I'll survive. Looking forward to reading Ian's notes so I will know if I liked the wine or not :)
